What Type of Yarn Are You? | | 52 Comments | Humor Pin34Share1.6KTweet1.6K Shares Upon entering your Local Yarn Store, do you most often: 1. Head straight for the new yarn you’ve been ready to purchase for a while. 2. Stop and chat with the store employee first and foremost. 3. Methodically work through each display to see if you can find anything new. Shop around a bit, but ultimately end up back at your most trusted brand of yarn. When choosing a new project to work up, do you generally: 1. Wing it, or make up a design as you go. 2. Return to a design you’ve made a few times before and know works up correctly. 3. Take recommendations from friends for patterns to make 4. Read through multiple patterns until you find one that both fits your needs and is written the way you like. What do you enjoy the most? 1. Staying in my routine with no surprises. 2. Spending time with friends. 3. Trying something new and different. 4. Working on detailed, systematic projects. What would you say you love most about knitting or crocheting? 1. The relationships you’ve developed with other knitters and crocheters. 2. The challenge of working up something detailed. 3. The repetitive nature of working with stitches. 4. The feeling of excellence you get after completing a new project – You are capable of anything! If you could sit down and work up any project start to finish right now, it would be: 1. Something quick and easy, just for fun. 2. Something I’ve made before so I could just enjoy the stitching. 3. That super intricate design I haven’t felt like I’ve had time for yet. 4. That really fun piece I’ve been wanting to make for myself forever. That would be me as well 🙂 Linda June 22, 2014 at 6:20 pm Fit me mostly to a “tee”. I am dependable and efficient — not so sure about confident and a leader, although others might disagree. I definitely need to remind myself often that I am “only one person” and that I can’t do it all. Fun quiz to take. Thanx!! Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:34 am Awesome! So glad you found it fitting, and I imagine you’re the only one who doesn’t think of yourself as a leader. It’s easy not to see the best in ourselves, unfortunately. Martha June 22, 2014 at 6:26 pm It’s funny, I’m considered a wool yarn, and wool makes me itch. When I was little I couldn’t even wear wool because I would brake out in a rash. However, here we are compared to it’s characteristics. This was a fun quiz! Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:34 am So glad you enjoyed it! Margaret June 22, 2014 at 7:04 pm I liked this quiz. I’m Homespun Yarn. The results were very right on. Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:35 am Awesome! Barbara June 22, 2014 at 10:14 pm Amaxing! I think it hit me right on! Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:35 am Yay! Carol June 23, 2014 at 7:17 am You found me!! Mine fits me to a Tee!!! Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:36 am Perfect 🙂 Pingback: People Who Love Yarn + Quiz » The Crochet Crowd Barbara June 24, 2014 at 1:35 pm I am pretty dependable, and I do frequently take on more than I can comfortably handle, but I disagree with the ‘bulky weight’ yarn reference. I much prefer to work in finer yarns (not bedspread cotton!) of weight 3 or 2, for winter wear, slippers, etc I prefer the weight four. I guess that’s why I love Caron Simply soft and am hoping they will introduce new colors each year. I’m all about design – I love designing my own crochet and quilting patterns Lisa June 24, 2014 at 4:02 pm I like the description of me but I wouldn’t call myself “Super Bulky”. LOL Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:37 am Not a physical descriptor, LOL! Used in yarn terms only! 🙂 Thea June 24, 2014 at 5:23 pm We’ll described! Enjoyed the wuiz Janice June 24, 2014 at 5:42 pm Loved the quiz! I’ve never thought about comparing myself to yarn. It got me thinking about other things I compare to 🙂 Marlene June 24, 2014 at 6:46 pm LACE YARN IT FITS ME EXACTLY. WOW, ITS AMAZING THAT ANSWERING A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT YARN CAN TELL MY PERSONALITY. Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:37 am Pretty neat, huh!? Lou Ann Beck June 25, 2014 at 3:46 pm Thank you for the analysis. I feel that it fits my feelings perfectly. And I love “handspun” to feel and work with. How on earth with these few questions did you figure me out so quickly? Melody June 26, 2014 at 7:49 am It’s a mystery! The joy of yarn and personality types 🙂 Who knew? shirley June 26, 2014 at 9:43 am Wow…amazing fit me to a capital”T” 🙂 Julia Alvira June 26, 2014 at 4:04 pm That’s me,I’m lace yarn. Thanks! Robin June 27, 2014 at 7:08 am Never thought about what kind of yarn I am, but lace yarn really fits my personality (but definitely doesn’t fit me physically!). Thanks so much for a fun quiz. Is there any way to see the other yarn types? StasaLynn July 29, 2014 at 4:02 pm Wow! I am Handspun Yarn! I am surprised because it really does fit. Thank you for a fun quiz. My crochet mentor sent me your way! Joyce December 28, 2014 at 6:40 pm super bulky fits me to a tee. I liked the quiz. Joanne Zednik March 19, 2015 at 12:08 pm Super Bulky perfectly describes me. I do tend to take on too much. But I do get alot done. Someone has to be in charge. Kim June 27, 2016 at 8:17 am Cheers and thanks Described me as others do Think that’s cool Thanks for all you do Becky June 27, 2016 at 11:13 am I got lace, and yes it describes me very well Jan Gunter June 27, 2016 at 11:23 am I got Super Bulky!!! Yup!! I take on too much at times!! But just maybe it should say I am Fluffy!! lol Thanks Melody for this fun quiz!! 🙂 Sharon Martin June 27, 2016 at 11:56 am I think the quiz fit me to a tee. Lov3d it. Angie G June 27, 2016 at 12:01 pm I am Lace Yarn. It is me to a T!!! You are a delicate and mysterious yarn that people turn to when looking to create something truly beautiful. Your beauty, inside and out, simply cannot be denied. However, it is not an easy task to truly get to know you. Though everyone can see just how caring, loyal, and honest you are, you do not give your friendship away easily. Just like it takes time and patience to work up a lace project, you reserve the best of yourself for those people willing to put in the full effort. Those who do will be rewarded greatly. Marilyn June 27, 2016 at 12:25 pm I got Super Bulky too. I think that fits me pretty well. I do take on too much sometimes and I like to teach others to knit and join our group at the senior place where I live. Maria Klein June 27, 2016 at 12:39 pm I got lace my favorite weight but I certainly wouldn’t call myself delicate! Karen June 27, 2016 at 12:42 pm LOL, I had to lie on question 1, we don’t have a yarn store here and it’s too far to drive to one. So, I picked what I thought I would do, really I’d probably hyperventilate from looking at all that goodness that I could touch and buy!! I got wool yarn ChrisK June 27, 2016 at 12:50 pm Love lace yarn! What fun! Chai Dackermann June 27, 2016 at 1:12 pm Lace yarn, I am usually friendly but don’t give away all my secrets. Gypsy T June 27, 2016 at 1:19 pm Yup, pinned me all right! I’m bully, and tend to have too much to do! Kaye M June 27, 2016 at 1:29 pm Pretty much hit the nail on the head except the part about creating a pattern. I pretty much follow patterns, but do love to try new patterns and like to be challenged. Jodie Scheer June 27, 2016 at 4:12 pm Wow that was awesome! I am “handspan yarn” I feel it fits me really well. Great job making that quiz! ❤️ Vickie June 27, 2016 at 5:40 pm I got super bulky. The description fits me fairly well. Some of the answers I wanted to check all. I love the comrodery that comes from being around other stitchers rather knitting or crocheting. All fiber arts excite me. I think is why this group is so interesting and fun. Dawn June 27, 2016 at 7:21 pm I am lace yarn, and it pretty much fit me (poor health has made me slow down a lot). I did have a hard time answering some of the questions… I wanted to pick 2 or 3 answers since it depends on how I am feeling that day. I may take the quiz again and if it comes up with a different answer I may consider myself a cross breed! Cindy Walden October 20, 2016 at 6:59 am Yah, that’s me. My health keeps me confined to the house so I’ve learned to do more intricate work than I did at one time. Thanks for the quiz. Darlene Nichols October 20, 2016 at 8:49 am I am Lace Yarn. Most of it was on the mark! LOL Astacia Carter October 20, 2016 at 10:37 am I’m lace yarn which is a little ironic. I like lace yarn projects but my arthritis makes even DK yarn hard to work with. dee October 20, 2016 at 1:39 pm I am a lace yarn, who knew. Amazing that the prediction fit so well. Thanks for the quiz Elaine Benton October 20, 2016 at 1:41 pm I got Super Bulky yarn. Not really me.. I love the finer weight yarns. Elaine Benton October 20, 2016 at 1:43 pm I took it again and this time I got lace weight yarn, more fitting of me. Sheri L Richards October 20, 2016 at 2:44 pm This was fun! I like my result of “Wool Yarn”. The description it gave is pretty spot on. Thank you for sharing it with us. Judy October 20, 2016 at 4:43 pm I came up lace and it’s amazing that it’s almost all true. Pretty neat. Susan Flynn October 20, 2016 at 5:58 pm I’m lave yarn.
