Designing Wisteria was definitely like climbing a mountain for me.  There were more than a few moments of uncertainty, and there may have been a few tears along the way.  I made it to the top, though, and I’m SO pleased to share this stunning (yes – there I go tooting my own horn again!) design with you all.

The Wisteria Cardigan is the perfect addition to every wardrobe….and since the pattern is written in all sizes Girl’s Small through Women’s 3XL (that’s 9 different sizes!), it really can be made for every female you know!  In all seriousness, though, this light-weight cardigan is perfect for anytime early Fall through late Spring, and it matches everything.  Dress it up by wearing it over your Sunday best, or dress it down by throwing it on over a tank top and some skinny jeans.  It looks GREAT with absolutely everything.  I can say this with complete honesty since I’ve been testing mine out with pretty much every outfit I own ever since I finished it, haha.

When you pair the versatility of this design with the step by step video tutorials that are included, and the 9 different sizes you’ll get, this is a pattern that you’re absolutely going to want to have in your collection!  Working it from the top-down makes it unique for a cardigan, but also simple and straight forward.  Though the lace looks intimidating (beautiful things always do, right!?), it’s actually quite simple….with the videos to help with any issue you might encounter, you’ll breeze through it!

Since this pattern was first released as a Mystery Create-A-Long design, it’s been thoroughly tested and created by upwards of 500 crafters already!  Here’s what a couple had to say about this pattern:

  • “Love love love this pattern! I’m pretty sure I’m going to make at least 10 of these!” ~ DomesticJenne on Ravelry
  • “I never make anything for myself, and I love how this turned out.” ~ Achinateacup on Ravelry
  • “For my first garment I’m so happy with the results! The pattern was so easy to follow and if I was unsure the videos cleared it up. It drapes beautifully and I can’t wait to wear it out.” ~ MelissaM813 on Ravelry

To compliment this beautiful design, I’ve created a gorgeous matching slouch hat pattern along with a fun matching leg warmers pattern!  I’ve heard from so many people now that the hat is the comfiest hat they’ve ever tried….and with slouch hats being so trendy right now, you’ll be comfy and stylish (as my 5 year old son would say!).

  1. Melody,

I just purchased your Wisteria Collection. Will I be able to access your videos on the making of the crochet version of the sweater?

    • Yes Kristine! You should see a link and a password for the video page on the first page of the Cardigan Pattern 🙂

  2. I have already purchased the Wisteria CAL pattern. I have lost most of the pattern. I only have part 1 and part 5. Where can I find the rest of them? I looked on Ravelry but am unable to find them there. Please help, Thanks!

  3. Victoria Hughes Chupp

Curious, I purchased both the knit and crochet versions of the cardigan, will those that purchased the same be getting the hat and leg warmers?

    • Hey Victoria! When did you purchase? If you purchased during this sale or before the MCAL, then yes, you should have gotten the hat and the leg warmers as freebies too. If you think you should have received those and haven’t please email me at [email protected] 🙂

  4. I purchased the pattern for the crochet version of the CAL, and am about half finished with it – the last message I received from you via Ravelry had links for the slouch cap and the leggings, however both links to me to a page that said “Your basket is empty” instead of to the patterns.

  5. Melody, thank you for your perseverance! I made the crochet version during the MCAL. And, I just recently purchased the knit version and waiting for my yarns to get here to make it.
I now have the collection in both Knit and Crochet!
Oh, and just so you know locally everyone who has seen me wear my sweater has fallen in love with it !!!
    You did Good!

  6. I participated in the MCAL making the knitted version in the largest size. I thoroughly enjoyed the pattern and managed to finish in the allotted time. It’s a beautifully written pattern, my only regret was not purchasing the crochet version as well at the end of the MCAL because it would look adorable on our granddaughter!

  7. I participated in the wisteria Mcal. It was my first time and I had a great time. The pattern is well written and easy to follow, I am self taught and have been crocheting for just over a year. The finished cardigan is really nice, lovely to wear, and I have nearly finished doing my second one. Thank you Melody for such a great pattern

  8. I participated in the knit version of the wisteria MCAL (making the girl’s small). The pattern was very easy to understand and worked up beautifully. Any questions I had were very quickly answered and the comradery between everyone participating was awesome. I Love the look of both the knitted and crocheted version. I may still buy the crochet pattern to make one for myself when time permits. Thank you Melody for the experience. I am looking forward to the next one!

  9. I am so thankful that my first time trying to crochet clothing was with this wonderful designer. Melody’s pattern was so well written and her quick response to questions was so appreciated. This was a beautiful cardigan which was a mystery to me when I started it. And I’m so glad that I decided to participate. Thank you Melody for the best written pattern and videos, you help me get over my fear of clothing. I hope to be able to join in other CAL in the future with you.

  10. I just purchased this and can not wait to get started.

  11. I think I’m gonna have to get both patterns-knit & crochet because I love them both and can’t decide. Want to join up on your next MCAL!

  12. Okay, so I was going to buy just the crochet version but then looked at the knit version and had to get both. Oh my goodness, I absolutely love this sweater. It would have been so much fun to particiapate but I can always watch the videos if need be. You really outdid yourself with this one Melody, just GORGEOUS! Love the hats and the leg warmers are cute but not needed her in Central California. Thank you for a job well done!

  13. P.S. You make the best model for your own design, you’re so pretty.
