Another Mystery Wrapped Up!

Sweater Set Modeled 2

Knit sweater made during the November 2015 MCAL

I can’t believe we’ve finished another Mystery Create-A-Long….and I have to say – this one was just as fun as the last!  Everyone did an amazing job on their projects, on working together, and on keeping it super positive and super fun within the group.  I couldn’t be more honored to get to work with such an amazing group of crafters on a daily basis.

So what did we end up creating!?  An adorable striped sweater.

SO many of the participants in this Create-A-Long told me that this was the first time they’d ever made a sweater.  Making it Mystery Create-A-Long style was hugely helpful for them in getting over the intimidation factor of trying something new….and getting the pattern in super small, manageable chunks made it easy and fun!

Here’s what a few people had to say about the event:

  • “I still can’t believe I made a sweater. If I had known it was a sweater, I would have been too intimidated to start the project. Now that it is done, I am so glad I did! I learned a lot, and I looove the finished item! Thank you, Melody!”
  • “It turned out SO cute! It’s fun to create along with you and everyone else, to see each different project with its colors and subtle differences. Fun fun fun! :)”
  • “A sincere thank you on helping me to create my first crochet sweater. I definitely would have been too daunted to try one if it had not been a mystery! Now I know that I merely have to break it down into smaller parts, and take my time reading the pattern, so as not to be over-whelmed. What a great lesson to have learned :)”
  • “This was one of the best online experiences of creatalongs period. Your patterns are so cute, and it’s fun to do them bit by bit. Getting help and input from the other participants is priceless, as well as seeing and being a part of their projects. Your input and daily keeping up with us is also very helpful, feels like you’re just an email away so no big worries of not getting answers to questions or problems. I loved every minute of this and am really sorry to see it come to a close in the next couple of days.  I don’t get out much for health reasons and this and the last create a long was an answered prayer. Thanks Melody.”

Sweater Set Modeled 3

Crochet Version of the November 2015 MCAL plus the matching group incentive freebie patterns.

I’m super excited to announce that I’m in the planning stages for not only one more MCAL right now….but two!  The first will be a free Mini Mystery Create-A-Long starting in the beginning of January just after the holidays.  I’d like to give everyone a chance to enjoy the fun and get hooked (pun intended, hehehe)!  So I thought offering a mini version might be a great way to let people try it out.  Plus I’ve been trying to think of a wonderful holiday gift to give my subscribers, and this seemed like the perfect one <3

After the Mini MCAL, we’ll be gearing up for a full-blown and AMAZING MCAL starting mid-February.  I’m SO excited about the design I’ll be using for this one that I can barely stand having to wait…..but my hands can only work so fast!  As always, there will also be some amazing group incentives the larger our participating group grows to be.  I’ll also be making a few minor adjustments (which I’ll be testing out during the Mini MCAL) to the structure as I’m always striving to make these events better and better!

If you want to make sure you get signed up for the free Mini Mystery Create-A-Long coming soon, make sure you’re signed up for my e-mail newsletter.

  10. Loved working on this project and can’t wait for another one. So good to see everyone work and all the different color variations. Will definitely sign up for more.

  11. This was very fun. I worked on the project at a crafting retreat supported by my church. It was fun to share the idea with the others at the retreat. No, I didn’t share the pattern! They were so surprised that I didn’t know what I was making. Like so many others, I am not sure I would have joined along if I had known exactly what I was making. This was the first sweater I have ever made. I may try something for myself in the future. This was much easier than I would have expected. And doing it in bits and pieces made it much less daunting. Thanks for all the fun. I am looking forward to the next one!

  12. Melody, I am in a quandary. I signed up for the Latest MCAL and paid for it. I even started it and posted some pics. Then my computer crashed and I had family issues so I never got to finish it. But now, I don’t have a link, or any information. It is as if everything about the MCAL is gone now. s there anything that you can do? I am confused? I looked on Ravelry, but I don’t really know how to navigate it all that well. I hope that you can help. I love your patterns and really wanted to learn something new

    • Oh no! That’s strange! Can you e-mail me at [email protected]? I see those e-mails usually a lot faster than these ones and I want to be sure and get you headed in the right direction. Do you see the pattern listed in your Ravelry library? You should still have access to it.
