Veronica Meets Spring Crochet Bag Pattern

Veronica Meets Spring was a totally new type of design for me.  I’ve seen many gorgeous Mandalas over the years, and I’ve always been really drawn to the color and texture that makes them so unique.  I’ve never been super interested in making something to hang on my wall, though….which is how Veronica Meets Spring was born.

The idea was to create a beautiful boho-chic mandala inspired design that was useful as well.  I’m proud to say that I even pleasantly surprised myself with the final result, and an absolutely stunning (and fun!) design was created.  I’ve never seen anything quite like this design in a knit version, so that makes me even more proud to call it my own.

The Veronica Meets Spring Pattern comes with finishing options to create either a gorgeous decorative pillow, or to create a beautiful boho bag.  Both are equally gorgeous, and equally useful….so you simply can’t go wrong with either finish.  I turned my first two VMS projects into bags (one for me and one for my mother-in-law) and they’re currently being put to great use!  I plan to make a few more in the future as decorative pillows to add a splash of color to my living room.

When you pair the versatility of this design with the step by step video tutorials that are included, this is a pattern that you’re absolutely going to want to have in your collection!  Though the design looks intimidating, the step by step videos will walk you through each new stitch….so it’s an awesome opportunity to get out of your comfort zone, learn some new skills, and create an amazing finished project to show for it.

Since this pattern was first released as a Mystery Create-A-Long design, it’s been thoroughly tested and created by upwards of 500 crafters already!  Here’s what a couple had to say about this pattern:

  • “I really love this design! I opted out of the button because I just couldn’t find a good spot for mine, and I never close my bags anyway. 🙂 I gave the pattern an “almost difficult” rating, only because it is something I would have struggled A LOT with, as a beginner, but the pattern designer is FANTASTIC! She is super helpful, quick to respond, and even made edits upon suggestions in the group. It is definitely not impossible, and it has been such a rewarding challenge!” ~ erinkay13 on Ravelry
  • “This is the first crochet bag I have completed, and I love it! The pattern was easy to follow. Thank you to Melody Rogers for a beautiful design. I’ll be making another one soon for my daughter.” ~ Cocoamumma on Ravelry
  • “Wow is all that I can say! So much fun making this project and Melody was super helpful with any questions that I had. I’ve never tackled such a large project but am so glad that I did. Now I feel that I have stepped into a whole new level of crochet. Thank you Melody <3” ~ Craftydebird on Ravelry

To compliment this beautiful design, I’ve created a gorgeous matching belt pattern (check out the knit version here and the crochet version here) along with a fun matching headband pattern (check out the knit version here and the crochet version here)!

  1. I really like the bracelet thank you. .I will post a picture when I’m done on your fb page

  2. I learned to knit was I was about 8, learned to crochet maybe about 12. Over the years, I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen a pattern and said I’m going to make that, only to find out it was a knitted project which I haven’t done since I was a youngster. Why is it the patterns I was always drawn to were knitted. Then along came Melody quite by accident when I was pattern surfing. Not a lot impresses me now that I’m approaching 72, however, Melody, your skills impress me. You have been given a gift and I, for one, intend to wholeheartedly avail myself of your crochet patterns and not care anymore that I forgot how to knit.

    • Oh my goodness, Marlene! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me that. It truly touches my heart!
