This Mystery Has Been Solved!
The Mystery Create-A-Long has come to a close….and I have to say…..I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out! The group worked so well together and offered encouragement, support, and compliments to one another at every turn. By the end, everyone had not only created a gorgeous dress, but had put their own spin on things!
This Create-A-Long group was filled with some seriously creative people! Even without knowing what the final project would look like, many of them totally took it to another level. I’m so proud of the group and definitely fired up to do another one of these soon! In fact, I’m so excited about it that I’ve got a new Mystery Create-A-Long design on my hook at this very minute, hehe.
Here’s what a few people had to say about the event:
- “This was such an exciting create-a-long to participate in! It kept me guessing nearly until the last set of directions. I feel like my brain got nice exercise, making something without having a finished image to compare to. I’m so happy I signed up to participate and would love to do another create-a-long in the future!”
- “This was my very first crochet along, I was excited to sign up and knew I would enjoy it but it was even more fun than I anticipated it being. And to be honest Melody was so hands on and ready to walk anyone through step by step any issues they may have been having that I felt it was as much a crochet learning session as well as a fun interactive project! I know she spent many hours fielding all sorts of questions due to different skill levels yet she was so kind and ready to help everyone through! She was very encouraging and up building throughout the entire process!”
- “What a fun mystery craft-along!!! I have to admit, I would not have selected this on my own… But love this pattern!! (Can’t wait to make another) The sense of community, caring, and love from Melody and everyone else was awesome!!”
- “I had an absolute BLAST with this Create-A-Long.
So much fun. In ways a lot more difficult than other things that I have made but Melody has awesome step-by-step photos that made it so easy. I’m so proud of myself for having made something so pretty and with a flower even! I gave this dress to my daughter for her doll and she requested on in her size! You know it’s an awesome pattern when a 7 year old wants knit clothing!
As always instructions and sizes etc are bang on.
So thrilled with this pattern and recommend it to anyone and everyone. Even if it seems intimidating – you can do it! And Melody helps with problems :)”
Thank you SO much to everyone who participated and made this such a fun event. I couldn’t have done it without you! I’ll be sending out the last update with the final copy of the pattern (all in one place so it’s a little easier to use! Hehe) along with the coupon codes to get your 2 free patterns you earned from my shop when you signed up. I’ll also be asking you to give me some honest feedback on what I might be able to improve the next time around.
If you’d like to admire everybody’s awesome work, make sure you check out the project pages! You’ll need to sign into Ravelry to see them all, but you won’t be sorry you took the time 🙂

Like I mentioned above, I’m already in the planning stages for another one of these Mystery Create-A-Longs! As a little hint……this one will be a unisex design that you can choose boy or girl colors for. The crochet version is currently on my hook and it’s SO DARN CUTE! I’ll be starting the knit version shortly, sending them out for some super secret testing, and then I’ll get the listing posted. Just like last time, this Create-A-Long will have some super awesome group incentives! So the more people that participate, the more goodies everyone will get. If you want to make sure you know when the next one starts, make sure you’re signed up for my e-mail newsletter.

I have to add that I felt like I was involved with a global group of close friends! It was so much fun to converse and help each other and ooooh and awwwwwh over the pics of completed projects and segment pics along the way. I feel like I know Melody and have never met her. Now I feel like I have crochet buddies all over the world going through the same thing as me when we are simultaneously working on the same project. So fun!!!
Melody really is a trooper! She takes your concerns and help you figure them out whenever she possibly can and I know she has a very little baby and a son in school as well as being a wife; all those things take a lot of someone’s time so it was amazing she could be there for us like she was.
THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART Melody!!!!
Awww! Thank you so much! I really appreciate these words Heidi! And I also appreciate all the feedback you were able to give me throughout the project. I’m going to use it all to make the next one even better.
I’ve followed all the postings on this CAL. Now I wish I hadn’t been hesitant to join the fun. I’ve never made anything “blind” before. I’d definitely like to be in on the next. I have 2 little granddaughters who’d have loved this sweet dress! Everyone did an amazing job!
Yes – definitely jump in on the next one! It’s an exciting process and I’m glad following the posts gave you the confidence to jump in on the next one 🙂 Hopefully I’ll have it ready in just a few weeks 🙂

Yay! So glad you enjoyed it!
All the pictures I have seen are great! I would like to have joined in the CAL. Unfortunately at this time. I have 3 projects on my hooks and 7 more to do. These are Christmas gifts, studying CE ‘s for my insurance license, and started a new job this past Friday. I hope to be completed with everything by the middle of December. I will be taking my crochet to work everyday. Have a wonderful week!
