Child 1-5 Year Pattern

Chain 62 using color 1 (white) yarn

Row 1: DC into third chain from hook and each chain across, CH2, Turn Work (60 total sts not including starting chain)

Row 2: *FPDC the next stitch, BPDC the next stitch* Repeat across, CH2, Turn Work (60 total sts)

Repeat Row 2 until your project measures 1.5 inches (3.75cm) in length from the starting chain edge.

Row 3: DC into each stitch across, CH2, Turn Work

Repeat Row 3 until your project measures approx. 8 inches (22.25cm) in length from the starting chain edge.

Fold your piece in half in order to seam up (using a SC edging, or your yarn and tapestry needle) the edge you’re currently working on.  The ribbing edge will be the side that frames the face.

Using Color 2 and working along the bottom edge of the hood (edge without ribbing), with right side facing, starting from the front corner, evenly SC 48 sts around the base of the hood.  When you reach the opposite front corner of the hood, chain 40.  You should now have a total of 88 sts (48 SC sts, 40 chains, 1 turning chain).

Row 1: Working into the second chain from your hook, SC each chain across to the SC stitches, skip the first SC stitch, CH1, SC into the second SC stitch, *skip the next stitch, CH1, SC into the next stitch* Repeat to end of row, CH1, Turn Work
