Freebie Alert ~ A Sucker For A Sweater
There’s an odd discrepancy between what the Fall season looks like in my mind, and what it actually looks like around my house….
When people start talking about Fall, I picture over-sized sweaters made of super bulky yarn, burnt orange and brown wreaths hanging on the front door, and adorable baby pumpkins decorating empty surfaces.
Somehow, though, Fall always seems to quickly pass by without any of those things actually coming to fruition. Short sleeves turn to long, shorts turn to jeans, and flip-flops become tennis shoes…..Somehow, though, my house looks the same, and the chunky sweaters of my dreams remain just that….daydreams.
So, in my Fall daydream haze over here, I just ran across this incredible chunky sweater. Once again, I’m picturing myself sitting on a wood porch with a steaming, delicious cup of coffee in my hand. The breeze is crisp and delicious, and I’m looking out over mountains full of aspens showing off their brilliance. Greens, reds, and oranges abound, and the tan chunky sweater keeping me warm is the only thing separating me from all the outrageously gorgeous colors….
In real life, though, I’m sitting in a season-less state, still wearing my dull summer clothes, in a house that will probably never be decorated for fall. I’m thinking any sort of vacationing is just gonna have to happen during the Colorado fall 🙂
For all of you enjoying the beauty of my favorite season right now, please do me a favor – crochet yourself this easy chunky sweater, and sit outside with a cup of coffee in hand thinking of me for a few minutes.
Just had to share this incredible tutorial by All About Ami so, at the very least, you can daydream along with me! Enjoy!
Humor me please! Tell me what your favorite part of Fall is in a comment below.

Ooh I love that sweater!! My favorite part of fall is the colors and the amazing smells. Cinnamon, pumpkin, apple spice….yumm!!
Yummm!! I love that part too <3
I love crispy autumn morning, conker picking with the kids and most of all crocheting funky hats and mittens for the boys.
I’m definitely going to have a go at this chunky cardi (my first grown up pattern) it’s gorgeous!!!!
Awesome! You should share a photo when you’re done….would love to see it!
I love the smells and the colors of fall.
Aaawww! Me too!
I love the colors and cool air of autumn.
I absolutely love this sweater! Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome! I’m wishing I had sweater weather right now 😉
Hoodies and bonfires!
Love those too!
I have always loved how crisp and cool the fall air gets. The changing colors of the leaves (grew up in the country with rolling hills FULL of color during the fall). Sipping or eating anything Pumpkin like my Pumpkin Rolls that I make for Thanksgiving.
Oh how I miss that time of year. Now that we live in SoCal we don’t really get seasons anymore. I can drive a couple of hours to Big Bear for snow but I can’t go anywhere for Fall. It’s my favorite season by far.
Thanks for the daydream Melody, now back to reality with 100 degree weather.
We’re daydreaming together Robin! I think this whole living away from Colorado thing might be harder than I thought…..though maybe I’ll feel differently when they’re all experiencing blizzards and I’m nice and warm 🙂
Yup, that is when I don’t miss living on the East Coast anymore. I definitely don’t miss the blizzards and snow.
I love this sweater style. In fact, I’m wearing a similar one right now, although not handmade. The weather is crisp and it is the perfect style to wear without having to put something heavier over it.
I love the colours but I’m waiting for the spring 😉 (but will have a swedish winter first:-( )
Umm, this is kinda a trick question… I have to say fall is my least favorite or all the seasons, with winter being a VERY close second… I hate being cold!
I am definitely more of a beach and flip flop kinda girl ?☀️?

Crisp cool nights, warm cider, and caramel apples
My favorite part of Fall is wearing warm sweaters.
