Sometimes parenting takes a bit of pre-planning and creative sneakiness!

Unfortunately, our kids don’t always want to do exactly what we ask of them….which is part of what makes them kids, part of what makes them each unique, and maybe even part of what makes us love them so much.

At times though, like during the never-ending struggle to keep a winter hat on a toddler, it helps to remember that with just a little bit of extra creativity, we can quietly and easily win the battle.  Which is part of why this week’s new design is so wonderful.

To be honest, when I set out to design a hooded cowl, I wasn’t really sure that I would love the outcome.  The ones I’ve seen in the past have always been pretty bulky and didn’t drop down over the shoulders.  So I decided to try a tighter fitting design that covered both neck and shoulders.  Guess what!?  I’m in love!

The Rustic Raccoon Hooded Cowl combines the absolute adorable quality of dressing up babies or children in animal ears along with the usefulness of a hat and scarf combo that little ones can’t take off on their own.  What’s not to love?

I’ve created both a knit and a crochet version of this pattern, and included all sizes Newborn through Adult, so you can come back to it time and time again.  In celebration of the new pattern release, for the next 48 hours only, I’ve listed it for just $3.25!

Head over and take advantage of the awesome deal on this new design now!  You’ll find the links to both the knit and the crochet patterns at the top of this post.
