Angora Eyelet Bonnet – Free Baby Knitting Pattern

Free Knit Baby Bonnet Pattern

I’m so happy to be featuring Mary Gonzales of Mary’s Knittin’ Designs for another designer showcase today!  Mary just recently started writing up her designs, and she’s doing a beautiful job with it!  Please head over and check out all her delectable work on her Ravelry Page.

Mary has written up a gorgeous sample pattern for us to try out….and I know you’re simply going to love it!  This sweet little newborn bonnet is an elegant, simple knit perfect for boys or girls.

All you have to do to try out the free pattern is connect with Mary (via either Facebook or her newsletter) and share this post with your friends – then you’ll instantly gain access to this beautiful design!  I’ve got some more details about how to do that at the bottom of this post.

As part of the showcase love, I got to ask Mary a few questions, and I love the answers!  Get to know her just a little bit more:

1. If you could be any type of yarn what type would you be and why?
If I could be any type of yarn, I would be angora. It’s so soft and fluffy to work with. I love the way it works up and I hope that you too will come to enjoy the wonderful feel of angora with the free pattern,
2.  Where’s your favorite spot to craft?
My favorite spot to craft is on the couch/recliner with a blanket, cup of coffee, and my Bichon Frise, Coconut, nearby.
3.  What project or type of project do you fantasize about making but have never gotten around to it?
The type of project that I want to make, but have never got around to it is a short-sleeve cardigan. I can never bring myself to make a large project for myself. I prefer the quick to finish newborn items, but someday I hope to make a short-sleeve cardigan for myself. (I even have a few patterns saved, lol!)
4. Where do you craft?  What’s your fav part?
I knit in the living room. My favorite part is my always growing yarn collection! You can never have too much yarn, right??
5. If you were to be locked in a yarn store unable to get out, which one would you choose and why?
If I were locked in a yarn store unable to get out, it would be the Loopy Ewe in Fort Collins, Colorado. I love this store, even though it is far away from my home in Michigan. They have a huge collection of yarn and needles that I could spend hours looking through. Lots of displays and knitting accessories, too.  Another reason is this yarn store is it’s only minutes away from my Grandma, who taught me how to knit, so she or my Aunt would probably locked in with me 🙂
