Double Pointed Needles (or use the Magic Loop

Method)

  • Yarn or Tapestry Needle

Gauge

11 sts and 16 rows = 2 inches (5 centimeters) in Stockinette Stitch

***It is important to check your gauge!***

Abbreviations

  • M1 (Make 1): Insert left needle, front to back, under the strand between st on left needle and st on right needle making a new loop on left needle. Knit this loop through the back.
  • Sl: Slip the designated number of stitches as if to purl
  • PSSO: Pass the slipped stitch over the last stitch worked and off of your needles
  • YO (with knit stitch following): Wrap yarn around the right needle from back to front counter-clockwise before knitting the next stitch.
  • YO (with purl stitch following): Wrap yarn around the right needle from front to back clockwise before purling the next stitch.
    • K2tog: Knit two stitches together
    • **: Repeat the section in between the two stars as specified

  5. Thank you so much for this pattern. I feel like I’m doing something wrong. When I slip 11 stitches to the right needle, my working yarn is 11 stiches back, so when I do the knit 1 there’s a huge line of yarn.
    Please help.
